Vivity® Extended Depth of Focus IOL

The Alcon Vivity® extended depth of focus (EDOF) intraocular lens implant is designed to deliver distance vision very much like a monofocal lens implant but with the added benefit of good intermediate (arm’s length) and functional near vision (up close). These lenses offer an improved range of vision by creating a blending of the light that enters the eye called X-Wave technology. This works differently than traditional multifocal lenses that split light up into multiple zones. The non-diffractive design of the Vivity lens results in minimal complaints of halos, glare or compromised distance vision in low light compared to other multifocal lens implants. If you are concerned about halo and glare but want to reduce the need for glasses for a wider range of activities the Vivity lens may be a good fit for you.
